One year ago I met my bestest friend, the love of my life, and my ultimate partner in crime. I’m a bit late to posting (because life), but Feb 15th was by far one of the greatest days of my life. The moment I met him, I knew. Everyone says that annoying saying “when you know, you know” but I am here to testify that is 100% accurate. I knew I would fall in love the moment I was greeted me with that tight hug.

The funny thing is I almost bailed that weekend. I was so close, but my gut told me to go and have fun for once in my life. So I did, and I haven’t looked back since.

Ever since the day we met, we have shared secrets, childhood memories, hobbies, annoyances, and created our own very idiotic secret language. But that’s what you do when you love someone. You become a person you never thought you could be. Happy, motivated, positive, and most importantly a loving human.

I firmly believe everyone has someone for them and everyone will go through something somewhat terrible before they find the perfect partner. Love happens when you least expect it. It happens after you feel like love doesn’t even exist. After you have gone through a relationship filled with emotional torture, lying, cheating and everything in between. It’s there waiting for you when you finally decide to move on and leave the past behind. Getting over someone you thought you loved seems impossible, but after few too many self care books, moving 1,600 miles away (this isn’t for everyone, but it helps) and focusing on yourself for once in your life, it happens. The hurt, the anger, and the worst memories finally go away. And if you try hard enough, you’re left with only the best memories from what seems like a past life.

Your moment is coming. Whether that moment is a new job, relationship, or city. Love is waiting for you in so many different ways. Love is screaming for you to come find it. I like to think I am lucky for finding the most amazing human being, but I’m not. Fate just happened into my life.

And per my last blog, everything happens for a reason. šŸ˜‰
